Local runners, approved by hand
A runner is an independent local wood seller and hauler who delivers firewood to customers in our service area. Every runner is approved before they can take a job, and every delivery builds a public record.
What is a runner?
Runners are local people with a truck (or truck and trailer) and a supply of hardwood. They sell and deliver the wood themselves at the posted price. They are independent: they aren't our employees, and we don't sell the wood. We provide the board where orders, delivery photos and ratings live.
When you order, a runner in your town takes the job, contacts you and delivers. If you choose "let me pick", you can compare runners who ask for your order before you choose one.
How runners are approved
- Each person applies with their truck or trailer, the towns they serve and a short bio.
- We review every application by hand before they can see or take any jobs.
- New runners are limited to one job at a time until they've completed two deliveries.
- We can suspend or remove a runner at any time.
We don't run background checks. A runner's record, built from delivery photos and customer ratings, is how trust is earned here.
How ratings work
After every delivery, the customer picks one outcome. The rating always counts, and it's about the wood and the delivery, not the person.
Five outcomes
As expected. Short on wood. Not as described (wrong wood, green sold as seasoned, wrong length). Late or missed the agreed time. Never delivered.
Optional comments
Customers can add a short written comment and runners can reply. Both are reviewed before they're posted, and comments about someone's looks, background or personal life, name-calling or anything untrue aren't published.
A visible record
Each runner's page shows their number of deliveries, the percentage rated "as expected", any reported issues and photos of recent deliveries.
Runners with low ratings, a "never delivered" report or repeated missed jobs are flagged for review, and can be suspended.
Why this protects you
You pay after, not before
Payment is in person after the wood arrives, so you can check the load first.
Photo proof
A runner can't close out a job without a photo. If a delivery is disputed, there's a record.
Accountability
Short loads and no-shows are recorded and public, and the worst performers lose access.
Limited sharing
Your name, address and phone go only to the one runner who takes your order.
Real sizes
Runners agree to deliver true stacked cord measurements, which you can check with a tape measure.
A human reviews it
Applications, comments and problem reports are all looked at by a person.
